Wild Cave Expeditions are especially popular with scout and youth groups. Caving is a perfect noncompetitive team activity that builds self-confidence, and we are pleased to offer special programs for scouting groups of all ages. Tours can be customized at no additional charge to meet the skill level of your group. That is, the routes taken within the cave for most tours can be varied and, at all times, your group will move at the speed of its slowest member. Because of this, the actual time that your group takes to complete a tour may vary. Leaders are encouraged to download a copy of our 2011 Scouting Guide that contains useful information for planning a caving expedition. We are pleased to offer scouts and youth groups our very lowest rates. In order to qualify for these rates, you must pay as a group and have at least ten people in your group or our standard rates will apply. We also provide one complimentary admission for every ten paid admissions (every 11th person is free!) so this will lower your cost per scout slightly depending upon the size of your group. Our scout rates are:
Achievement Patches: We currently offer several achievement patches that can either be purchased after your tour or at our on-line store. We are adding to our on-line inventory weekly and encourage you to visit often to view the new items. All items shown on-line are available for purchase in our gift shop. Reservation / Cancellation / Refund Policies: We require an advance deposit in order to reserve your tour date and time. You may either mail a check or provide us with a credit card number. Please note that your credit card will only be run if you do not call to cancel at least one week in advance. If you must cancel your tour with less than a one week notice, you will forfeit your deposit. In case of bad weather or other emergencies, please call us to reschedule your tour. Your deposit will be applied to your new date but will be forfeited if you later decide to cancel. Finally, we understand that group numbers can and do change. Rest assured that you will only be charged for the number who actually show up and go caving. A partial refund may be available to your group for individuals who decide not to enter the cave at the last minute. Please feel free to inquire about this when making your reservation. Our Merit Badge Program is extremely popular with scout groups as they can often complete the requirements for several badges either before or after their caving adventure. It is extremely important to note that advance reservations for specific badges are required so that we can make sure that the appropriate instructor and materials are available. Please be sure to inquire about the various badge options when calling to schedule your tour. We would like to share with you some comments made by a scout group that visited our cave in August, 2008. “Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the cave exploring last night as the boys really had a good time and will have the memory for life. The Merit Badge was a first class job as well. Patty spoke to the level of the boys and she knew what she was talking about. Merit Badges have gotten easier over the years as they seem to be done more in group settings now. This makes it more challenging at times for the instructor and of course some of the boys are never interested in anything and are easily distracted. Your straight forwardness with them having to complete the requirements was appreciated and your patience with our less attentive scouts was a big help as well. ..”
